Description: 4 x flat curlers, contained in cardboard box with home made lid. 1 x loose, vintage Woolworth’s flat metal curlers 70mm long, with clip mechanism; 3 x cards of vintage Woolworth’s small flat metal curlers, 55mm long. Ref number on cards 124W. Made in Great Britain; 2 x loose small flat metal curlers; 11 x metal, 48mm long, hairgrips on part of a card, bought from Superdrug.

Description: Pack containing 37 kirby grips, each 50mm long. Pack is 39 x 50 x 12mm. made of cardboard with see through plastic window on the front. Wording on the front ‘EVE Handipak Hair Grips 6d.’ and features a retro design with a woman’s portrait. Wording on the back ‘Ask for Goodman’s HANDIPAKS The original hairgrip window pack Grips always tidy. Made in England by Goodman’

Further Information: The name ‘Kirby grip’ comes from the Emglish manufacturers Kirby, Beard and Co Ltd of Birmingham. This company produced hairpins similar to the later invented bobby pin, and their trademarked pin, the “Kirby grip” became a popular term for this type of hair grip

DM397A, Volts 230/250, Watts 400, 50 cycles AC only, Br Rg Des 872680, Br Pat no 761583 A91 Made in England’ White and red control buttons on handle. overall dimensions 160 x 240mm. With flex but no plug.

Further Information: An advert from 1957 states that the moto fan blades are made of cellulose acetate because of its exceptional toughness. Graces guide has whole history of the General Electric Company of which the domestic market was a small division.
